Costa Rica, a Small Nation With a Large Diversity of Topography and Attractions

Costa Rica is a fascinating place to visit with a huge variety of things to do for every one, from the nature lover, to the adventuresome, or for those just looking for a relaxing vacation.

It's a small nation with a variety of topography that offers diverse natural habitat in just a short distance.

You can hike to a cloud forest one day, view of one of the world’s most active volcanoes from a sky tram the next day, ride a raft along a jungle river on another day, or go horseback riding at a working hacienda, and yet spend another day deep sea fishing or just relaxing on a beautiful sandy beach.

Some of the popular attractions are:

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, located on the Continental Divide, is a rain forest with many hiking trails that take you from 2,000 to more than 6,000 feet above sea level.

Tortuguero National Park, on the Caribbean side is a great place to see wildlife where you get to see howler monkeys and amazing amphibians.

Arenal Volcano and Tabacón Hot Springs where you can see an active volcano in daytime and at night, if it's not cloudy, the show is even more stupendous as the mammoth volcano spews red lava and huge rocks glowing against the black sky.
