Cayman Islands
Scuba Diving and Snorkeling

Cayman Islands scuba diving and snorkeling is considered to be one of the top dive destinations in the world.

Noted for its clear water with 100ft – 200 ft visibility, the sheer drops of the walls, an abundance of sponges and coral, along with great shore diving and snorkeling, all combine to set this Island apart from other Caribbean dive sites.

With all of this, there is a  large and unique variety of marine life, including stingrays, eagle rays, schools of tarpon and silversides, barracudas, angelfish, scrawled filefish, green and hawksbill sea turtles, flying gurnards, moray eels, puffer fish, and many others.

The top dive sites:

Angel Reef
Plentiful fingers of coral extending west from the mooring buoy out to the wall.

Devil’s Grotto
Great shore dive with caves tunnels and Grotto's.

Eagle Ray Pass
On the edge of the North Wall, has lots of critters and coral.

La Mesa
Has a large head of coral along with fingers of coral heading out to the wall. Has a large variety of marine life.

Lone Star Ledge
Clear water with a large variety of marine life. Sea turtles along with barracudas, parrot fish, and several types of angel fish.

Neptune’s Wall
Has a depth of 90 feet dropping off to 800 feet. Lots of coral and marine life in the area. Only accessible by boat.

Sand Chute
This dive is like a ski slope, with a wide, steep slope of sand descending into the deep blue. An exciting plunge down the slope with beautiful pinnacles of coral surrounding the chute, giving the impression that you are flying through canyons and gorges. Has a large variety of marine life.

Sting Ray City
Stingray City is the Cayman Islands most popular attraction. This dive site is perfect for all levels of scuba divers due to the shallow depth of the dive and for snorkelers who will be able to snorkel the beautiful surrounding reefs. Here you’ll interact and feed large, gentle stingrays. You might also see some friendly green morays looking for scraps.

The top snorkeling sites

Because of the excellent water clarity, year round warm water temperature, and the close proximity to pristine underwater reefs from the shore, snorkeling in Grand Cayman is great for all, levels of snorkelers looking to have a fantastic marine life experience.

Eden Rock and Devil's Grotto
Both are located close.  They offer an excellent coral formation in just 10 to 30 feet of water along with a large variety of marine life.

The Wreck of the Cali

This is an old freighter that sank right beside George Town Harbor.  It is now broken up lying in 20ft of water.  The Ship's remains are scattered along the ocean's floor attracting a large variety of sponges and marine life.

Cheese Burger Reef
Named from the landmark found there.  The Reef covers over 3 acres with very colorful coral formations.  You’ll experience lots of turtles attracted by the abundance of sponges.

The Wreck of the Gamma

A freighter that sank onshore near George Town.  Lying in 20ft of water, a portion of the wreck protrudes out of the water.  An abundance of young fish, sponges, and shallow coral
